Family Shoot - Moss Bank Park in Bolton - 15/01/2020

Want to know just how just how lovely a winter shoot can be? Then you need look no further than this gorgeous shoot on a sunny winter’s afternoon in Moss Bank Park, Bolton. I loved everything about this session with Natalia and her son Sonny in the walled garden at the park; it was mild, pleasantly sunny, and this mother and son duo were absolutely adorable!

With young children I find it’s best to follow their lead and let them do their own thing generally. I get the best smiles that way, as well as letting their personality shine through, and everyone is much happier! We let Sonny wander round the garden and took the opportunities to get more posed portraits when they arose.

Sonny has low muscle tone and development delay connected to this, so he has just recently mastered walking. Natalia was particularly keen to capture this as it is such a big milestone for the family, and we did that in spades. I also managed to catch some wonderfully tender moments between Natalia and Sonny. It was such a beautiful afternoon and I feel privileged to have been invited to record these moments for them to look back on for years to come.
