Since childhood Sarah has had a desire to help and care for others, which led her to train and work for the NHS as a nurse for many years. Three years ago she decided to follow her long held interest in holistic therapies and retrain. After qualifying as a Forrest yoga teacher last year (the only one in Lancashire currently) she began her business Gentle Warrior; offering one to one yoga sessions, yoga classes, and other therapies such as massage and reiki.
Of course every new business now needs a good website and this was something Sarah was working on, Helen Cullen-Williams Brand & Websites did a fantastic job putting it all together. Part of this was also to make sure Sarah had great photographs to help make sure that her brand values and personality shone through to her potential clients. Sarah wanted to make sure that the connection to nature and the importance of connecting to yourself showed in the photographs, that yoga can be normal and integrated in day to day life like when on a walk. To this end we decided to just shoot outdoors and chose a location close to her heart and part of her everyday life. We headed to Crook O’ Lune near Caton, where Sarah is based, and set out on an amble around some of her favourite parts around the river. She wanted to show how Forrest yoga is accessible to everyone so we tried a different selection of poses that fitted that brief. Sarah was delighted with the results, as was I, and I also thoroughly enjoyed not only discovering a new Lancastrian beauty spot but also working with such a lovely soul.
I have had two wonderful one to one yoga sessions with Sarah and can heartily recommend booking with her. I’m relative newbie when it comes to yoga, I’ve dipped my toe in before and attended a couple of classes but never felt completely comfortable. Having all of Sarah’s attention was great as I knew she would ‘correct’ me if I wasn’t quite getting a pose and would make sure I got the most out of the session. What I appreciated the most through was her kind and gentle demeanor, her friendly and encouraging attitude allowed me to concentrate and be myself without worrying about how I looked or whether I was doing everything properly. I left each time feel light, free, and relaxed having left my baggage at the start of the session!
Of course Gentle Warrior has been affected by the covid-19 crisis like most of us and isn’t able to offer any in-person sessions or treatments currently. Sarah is able to offer both one to one and class yoga sessions online, you can find out more and book on her website: https://www.gentlewarrioryoga.com/ and Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/gentlewarriorholistic/
