In between the autumn and winter lockdowns I managed to squeeze in a wonderful family and newborn shoot with mum Emily, dad Tom, big sister Eliza, and baby Iris. Emily had been bought the shoot and product package as a new baby gift and she was a little aprehensive about how I was going to get any good shots, especially as they’d just recently moved into their new home and it wasn’t decorated to their taste. I soon put their worries to rest, especially once they had seen the some of the images!

With Iris only being a few weeks old and it being the middle of winter we split the shoot into two parts; indoors so we could get some lovely close up portraits of the children and outdoors for wider family shots and beautiful backdrops. We headed to Whitehall Park in Darwen for the outdoor session and my goodness did we get lucky with the backdrop as we met on the first snow day in December! We got a wonderful wintery wonderland in every image and couldn’t have been more pleased with the results.

Once Emily received the family’s pictures she left me this lovely review “I received a newborn/family photoshoot with Katrina as a gift and I was sceptical about getting good photos of us, with a crazy 4 year old and a newborn, neither of whom stay still or look happy for any length of time. Katrina is lovely and is great with kids, being a mum herself. Initially she came to our house where we discussed what type of photos we wanted and which hideous wallpaper we absolutely did not want in the background. Then we ended up having two shoots due to the weather, the outdoor shoot being in the snow which was fabulous! Katrina made the whole experience fun and kept our 4 year old entertained. I am so happy with the photos and I can’t wait to show them to my family and friends.”
