Family shoot in White Coppice, Lancashire

The last year has been a busy one for me and in terms of photography very enjoyable, even if things in Britain and the world have been more than a little turbulent to say the least! This has been my second year in business after a long break, in which I moved north to Darwen from London and had my two lovely children, Matilda and Corben.

As I mentioned in a previous blog this was possible due to the support of Firespiral Slings, a company local to me who make baby carrying wraps. I have worked with another similar company, Baie Slings, and many wonderful families over the course of the year as well.

When you look at my work you can clearly see that babywearing features in it heavily! It is a big part of my life but this year also saw breastfeeding shoots, a cake smash, and family get togethers.

Working mainly outdoors has given me the opportunity to get to know the Lancashire landscape that much better too and to appreciate just what a beautiful area I live in. The rocky quarry at White Coppice near Chorley, the windy moorland of Belmont, and the stunning bluebell woods near Clitheroe are just a few of the amazing locations I’ve shot at during 2016.

I’m very much looking forward to what 2017 will bring. Over the last year I’ve had the privilege to work with so many amazing people and families, this year I look forward to working with all of them again and to meeting even more.
