In the space between lockdowns within Blackburn with Darwen we were lucky enough to have a window of good weather so we took the opportunity to hit the beach for the day! We headed for Lytham St Annes knowing that the beach tends to be very spacious so social distancing wouldn’t be a problem. It was busy but as we expected as soon as we were off the car park we had all the space in the world, no worries about getting too close to others.
It was wonderful to see the children unwind and enjoy themselves in the sand, we tried trekking to the sea but we got there as the tide was going out and we just couldn’t catch it! We did find a very big puddle which was the next best thing so we did get to splash around too. I absolutely love these care-free photos I got of the children, definitely something to treasure in this stressful year. Of course we finished the day with a chippy tea, heading down the coast a little way to Whelan’s in Lytham, and sat in the lee of the windmill to eat them whilst enjoying the last of the day’s sunshine.
