This wonderful extended family photoshoot was an absolute pleasure to shoot, even with the added challenge of photographing a large group! The Carter family had gathered in the Ribble Valley for a holiday and were looking to commemorate the event as a surpirse gift for Grandma and Grandad Carters’ wedding anniversary. As the family didn’t know the area well I suggested a few locations and we eventually settled on my old favourite; Sunnyhurst Woods.

We met on a crisp autumn morning and with eight children and ten adults I had my work cut out for me so we got straight into it. Starting with more formal posed portraits near the kiosk moving towards fun candid shots as we got closer to the pond. This mix of styles gives your gallery lots of variety and makes it easier to work around the whims and moods of small children!

The family were delighted with their pictures and left me this review – ‘We had an extended family photoshoot Autumn last year – remember the days when extended families could meet?! We can’t recommend Katrina highly enough, She took time to get to know us in advance of the shoot meaning that she managed to marshall all 18 of us including 8 under 5s and produce some lovely natural pictures on the day. She even managed to get some smiling pictures of our usually camera shy family members. If we lived more locally we would be signing up for an annual update!’
